The Changelings have conquered half of Equestria, while a former Equestrian colony - soured to Princesses notion of harmony with all creatures thank to their dealing with griffins - Invaded and took the other half. In Baltimare and the Equestruan Southlands, the magic of friendship has weakened, as Communists, Changeling infiltrators, Fascists, gangs, and even ancient necormancers and dark gods threaten the city and the surrounding regions. This role play is based in large part upon the Equestria at War mod for Hearts of Iron 4, and uses D&d 3.5e mechanics.

The order of Saint Prancis Orphanage wants missing foals back. Rescue the lost foals
The Blackhooves of Baltimare want a scandal exposed. Specifically, they want evidence that will justify a search warrant and catch some asshole politician in a crime, which they hope will weaken the politician's party. So collect evidence of scandalous shit
Murdering a guard will be unhelpful to the Blackhooves mission, because they won't be willing to go public with the information if it is obvious an innocent bystander was killed in order to get it. it would make the Blackhooves look bad
Obviously, Brie can steal shit from rich people in the process. This is actually kind of useful to both missions because it makes it look like the break-in was just a normal burglary
