PhoenixFire really seems to be a case of a guy who didn't realize where things were headed until it was too late, and cared more about saving his own skin and keeping things technically correct than actually stopping a damn witch-hunt. He enabled this thinking and behavior, readily accepting databyte's suggestions on how to categorize things (with a category for "troublesome" users) on the PCL server.
I feel sorry for him only in that he's been as much blamed as databyte for the list itself, when clearly it was created by a bunch of his mods teaming up behind his back and strongarming him.
